Bus "RAPID" Transport

Around an year and a half back, the BRT or the "Bus RAPID transport" corridors were built in Delhi to "facilitate the movement of fast high capacity buses".

However, the irony of the situation is that actually these corridors are an impediment to the movement of buses and traffic alike, leave alone the movement of "FAST" buses. I frequently travel on the Mehrauli Gurgaon road and there is a BRT corridor before Sangam Vihar. Without exception, there is always a long line of cars and other vehicles queued up at the traffic light. The situation is so bad during the peak hours that it can even take around half an hour just to cover around 50 metres of distance.

In my opinion, this BRT model was a comlplete failure and it's high time that the Delhi government woke up from its slumber and did something about this nuisance.
